The apple pies were plentiful at the Ilsan Costco for 7,980 won. I know this because I have one, well, half of one in my apartment. I like my apple pie heated in a microwave for 45 seconds and then topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
I also bought: tortillas, frozen whole chicken breast, Campbells soup, cheese, bagged salad, and a couple of bulgogi (beef) pizzas for 12,500 each. |
How much are the frozen chicken breasts per kilo? |

While I was waiting for the pizza, I also saw a woman, at the food court, chug a Coke, then fill an entire cup with mustard. |
She probably just wanted more dressing for her minced onion salad back at her table. |
There are no limits for your average Korean at Costco. My mother-in-law spends several months in the US every year, has traveled all over the world, and STILL can't help but indulge in the onion, mustard and ketchup plate at Costco!
As for the pies and Italian sausages, I can't remember the last time that they were not fully stocked. |

I paid 26,000 for 6.5 lbs(3.2 Kgs) bag of the frozen chicken breasts. They have come down in price. In the past when the won was struggling, they were almost 10,000 more. |

quality is excellent, better than homeplus and all full breasts. delivery took two days.
The breasts are all in 1 kg bags so you don't have to worry about defrosting a whole heap at once
~8 breasts per bag
I have only bought the more expensive one so I can't vouch for the cheaper one |

The cheaper one looks like they have those tabs of tendon or fat on them. I would go for the more expensive. They are delicious. |

emmmm,
the ones at costco 1.5 kilo bags, with about 20 fillets for 14.000won..
so..
you say 8 fillets for 1 kg?
and 10 kilos is about 50.000 won?
so 10 kilo bag of chicken would be around 80 fillets
costco's is around 60.000 won for 80 fillets
thats if there is 20 fillets in the box.. might be alittle less..
emmm I think I might give Gmarket a try and see the difference..
cheers for the heads up... |

Costco has different cuts of beef at different prices. I will be there today and can post some prices later. |
The beef prices are at Costco are pretty much the same as everywhere else. It's Australian beef. At least that's what it says on the label. |

here is the website. Do you still need a member's card if you want to purchase stuff there, I am not sure.

That's not the Costco website. It's the website of a service that will deliver you stuff from Costco after chalking up the price of each item a tad. |

It looks like about a 30% mark-up on each item.
Just thinking.......If Costco themselves did a free or cheap delivery service it would make the experience of living in Korea as a foreigner so much different.
I've yet to find a Korean-brand version of a foreign food that doesn't taste like crap......the four food groups that really make my day, bread, cheese, cold-cuts and wine are all done badly by Korean brands.
That's why I reluctantly cough up the 35,000 every year for Costco.......because Koreans can't make any food well except for Korean food. |
