yeah I read that this morning.
But what does it actually mean? I mean, the games are already region free anyway.
For me, the only good thing would be if you could make DVD's and Blu-ray region free too.
What other sort of stuff will this hack enable people to do that they couldn't before? |

It may enable them to pirate games. Also, it can start a community for third-party developers to produce homebrew apps. |

This hack isn't entirely a good thing tho, it allows full access to the hardware which could enable people to easily cheat in games (like on pc games). one of the reasons i prefer console gaming is that there usually isn't any cheating going on. Doesn't really affect me tho, i'm more of a 360 person. |

Yeah, I quit playing GTA 4 online on the PC because of all the cheating. SMGs shooting rockets. And the votekick system was screwed. Oh well. Go Valve!
Still are there that many people cheating on Live? |

Awesome news.
If you do use it for pirated games it would mean having to buy a bluray writer which would mean bluray discs which will be expensive.
I'm sure somewhere along the lines they'll release software which will enable you to download a game and put it straight onto the PS3.
Problem is, Bluray can hold about 60gb, not all games use that much but...how many 60gb games COULD a PS3 hold?
4 games on a internal 250gb HDD?
If they ALSO release some sort of patch to allow PS3's to recognize external NTFS HDD's then we are talking.
Connect a 2TB HDD and run your games through there! Don't know how effective it will be, but early days gentlemen, early days. |

The kids 20!
wow.
Playing off a harddisk would be sweet.
I thought Sony lasted a while with the PS3. There will be a firmware update ASAP but I think it won't matter too much. |
