Hi,

I am a UK citizen due to start work in Busan next month. I understand that I am not required to pay income tax whislt in Korea. Does anyone know what the UK equivalent of the America "Certificate of residency" is and how to obtain it?

Many thanks!

Thanks Capo - I am indeed going through the public school route. I will bring my P45 from my old job.

Cheers

Write a letter to your tax office asking for a proof of residency letter. It takes about six weeks for them to send it you. Give it to your admin office in your school when you arrive. You'll need to send the tax office your NI number and maybe a p45.
