SEOUL, Jan 27 (Reuters) - North and South Korea exchanged artillery fire near their disputed sea border on Wednesday, the second time in three months the rivals have clashed and briefly sending prices down on jittery Seoul financial markets. |

They fired more shells again today.
My guess is most Koreans (in the South) don't care much. |

Yes, they are thumping their chests, but they are doing something much more important as well.
Always before the Norks declared 'no-sail' zones up on their NW coast. This time, for the first time, they unilaterally declared two no-sail zones much farther south, and moreover, straddle the Northern Limit Line (the sea boundary). In other words, they deliberately claimed the right to control South Korean territorial waters. Then they shot artillery shells from a very heavily fortified peninsula right up to the NLL, being careful not to shoot across the border. (The South Korean navy does not sail in those waters--far too dangerous. They stay west of the island, away from the artillery.) |
