I currently have an E-2 teaching visa. However, I am of Korean descent. Can I switch my e-2 to an F-4 even though my current visa is still in effect?

What documentation do I need to provide in order to do so? Also, do I have to notify my school?

You don't need to notify your school, but you can if you want. I did when i first got the F4, but theres nothing the employer can do or say about it.
It works out better for you though.

Also, i can't remember the exact documentation, but the info is readily available on the web (maybe there is a sticky?). I don't remember because I first applied for it about 5 years ago, and renewing it doesn't require documents. You need the hojuk (family tree) from a gu office, and some other stuff.

EDIT: Actually once you change it, you should probalby notify your employer if you receive benefits such as pension, because your ID number will be different. I would tell them after you change it though in case they come up with some lame excuse as to why you shouldn't get the F4, after all you no longer needing the E2 gives them less power over you.
