For a while E-mart was doing really well with their imported goods, but now it seems they have nothing anymore. I couldn't even find Perrier there this evening.

What's up with that?

Also - has Korea stopped stocking Kellogg's Cornflake??? I can't find it anywhere.

man, i dunno about that but in the cheese section at my neighborhood Emart they installed this little video player that constantly loops this ten-second video of a girl eating Laughing Cow cheese and going "아, 귀여워! 아, 부드러워!" ("Ah, so cute! Ah, so soft!") and every time I go there to buy cheese it makes me want to SCREAM.

Emart constantly changes their stock though. My favorite brand of yogurt that I buy there every time I go suddenly disappeared last time. Confused And I always buy cabbage (the kind we eat, not the kimchi kind) there but suddenly last time they didn't have any cabbage either.

1) They take what their suppliers give them. People used to drink Perrier before they drank Pellegrino. Pellegrino was kinda last decade. They carry what's in style.

2) (Poster down the line) You'd never seen Asian advertising before you came here?

3) Cabbage isn't in season.

EMart is shite. Do yourselves a favor and promote Homeplus because they actually carry decent products. Unless you like ramyon and spam.

Emart is ghetto. Emart is a price gouger. It is vastly more crowded then Homeplus as well. I avoid Emart like the plague.

So true. I will never understand why Emart is so popular here. I always want to kill someone after going to Emart. They're pretty much supahs with shopping carts.

E-mart has good dairy, good non-food items (clothes, shoes, etc), and some other things going for it.

Food and produce are not their strong areas. And yes, many foreign products have disappeared. It's like they're degressing.

A few years ago, they were quite affordable, and they had cheese, Dr. Pepper, and many other products I like. Not anymore.

On one good point, they now have pizza by the slice. Huge slices (Costco size), taste okay, but not cheap.

Asian advertising is bad; ten seconds of Asian advertising looped infinitely is just criminal.

Ask a Korean why they are so busy. I've asked many Korean people why the go to E-Mart when Homeplus is better and cheaper. I was told because E-Mart is 100% Korean owned they must support it. Rolling Eyes Don't you ever wonder why Walmart and Carefour(spelling?) left Korea. Officialy it was because they failed to adapt to the Korean retail market. It was because a lot of Koreans refused to shop there because they were foreign owned companies.
I was talking to 1 of my friends who is An economist and he was telling me a lot of the little tricks E-Mart does to drive prices up.
Please support your local Homeplus or Lotte Mart because if theses stores go under and we are only left with E-mart we'll be screwed.
