|
|
Different websites gave me conflicting answers:
(e) 2. nationals of most countries, travelling for short-term touristic or transit purposes, are allowed to enter visa-free for a maximum duration of 30 days, provided holding confirmed onward or return tickets and proof of sufficient funds. This regulation applies to: Albania, Argentina, Australia (90 days), Brunei, Canada (6 months), Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Fiji, Guam, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong (90 days), Japan, Kuwait, Latvia, Lithuania, Macau, Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Monaco, New Caledonia, Oman, Palau, Paraguay, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Solomon Islands, Slovenia, South Africa, Swaziland, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, USA, Vatican City, Venezuala and Yemen.
Tourist:
Email Requirements
1 A visa is not required for a stay of up to 90 days.
2 Passport Requirements: Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, and with at least one blank visa page available for stamp(s).
3 Proof Of Departure: Confirmed round-trip or onward airline ticket.
Also, what if I don't have a departure ticket yet because I don't know yet where my next destination is? |

I believe it's 90 days now, which is a change that came as one of the concessions to Korea's entry into the US visa waiver program. |

I arrived in April of 2009 and got 90 days. I'm sure they haven't actually gone back on that since then.
Also, I bought a 100% refundable outward bound ticket just in case, but they didn't even ask, but if they do you may be in a pickle. Make sure you have an address to write down as to where you're staying, whether it's real or not. They don't like that if you don't. |

Dress like a person who is financially responsible and also have something that shows that you are capable of paying for a ticket back. Some kind of a bank statement or credit card statement. |

It is still 90 days. I had a friend from US come over a couple of weeks ago and they received 90 days. |

Yes, 90 days.
If you ever find yourself in a situation where you need to extend, take a quick "hop" over to Japan, and the 90 days starts all over again. |

I entered Korea on a one-way ticket. It was the ticket agent in Thailand that asked the most questions. I told him I would take a ferry to Japan and buy my ticket once I arrived. He made a phone call then gave me a boarding pass.
Koera immigration was a breeze.
I heard the ticket agents could be held responsible if they allow someone on a plane without an outbound ticket. It can be traced back to them and they can receive a fine. |
