hey, I'm a Canadian whose going on Vacation this month. I need to get a re-entry stamp in my passport. I currently live in Incehon, so I'm debating with myself on whether or not to go the local immmigration office to get a re-entry stamp or take till the day of my flight and try to get one at the airport. Either way is fine for me but I'd rather not waste a morning going to and from the immigration office if I don't need to. So, for those who got the re-entry stamp at the airport what advice can you lend? Was it a hassle? What was your experince?

i havent gotten a rentry stamp at the airport, but i will say u should just go to the immigration office and get a mutiple rentry stamp, cuz i think the one they give u in teh airport is only single. and its only like 10 or 20k more won for the multi.

Then don't. It's quick and easy to get a single re-entry at the airport though costs a bit more if you do it a few times a year.

the thing about getting it at the airport is that you might get stuck in a line forever if the immigration office is super busy and you may miss your flight. Better off getting it at the office when you know you have the time That's just my opinion.

the re-entry stamp is simply what you get at the airport to show that you have arrived. What you are thinking about is, what type of E-2 Visa do you need. If you want a multiple re-entry E-2 visa, I would think that has to be sorted out before you arrive back at the airport. Otherwise you are going to have problems when you arrive at the airport.

I would call immigration and find out if you can change the E-2 visa single entry, multiple entry status upon arrival at the airport before you leave.

Only some countries can get a multiple re-entry stamp - Canada is not one of them. So when you come back in, you just go over to immigration to pay. Otherwise, DO IT ONLINE! The website for immigration in this country is super easy. I got my multiple online in 24 hours, never had to visit immigration. I just printed the paper and bring it with me when I go anywhere.

You can only get a single entry visa at the airport. If you think you're going to leave the country multiple times, I'd suggest you get a multi entry visa at the immigration office. I believe you can only do it once at the airport and depending on the number of pple, it may or may not be busy, so you could possibly be pushed for time.

If you do get it at the airport, where you get your entry visa is before you go through security. DO NOT go through security before getting your reentry visa or else you are screwed!

I agree. The airport could be a nightmare. By the by...i think having to get a stamp is a total joke. Its a money grab and not necessary if you have a valid visa for the country.

This is simply WRONG.

No, DO NOT GET IT WHEN YOU RETURN. Get your re-entry permit BEFORE you leave the country.

Getting a stamp at the airport is quick and easy BUT it is only for single use. You CANNOT get a multi-use re-entry stamp at the airport.

The cost is 30k won.
The entry to the airport immigration office is along the back wall behind check-in counter "F" or "H".

You need your passport, ARC, 30k won and a filled in application form (available at the counter).

It takes 15 minutes + the wait for the line-up. It can take up to 60 minutes but usually is done in less than 30.

The immigration office at the airport is open from 6am until 10pm, 7 days per week.

Have a great trip.

Thanks for the responses. I ended up going to immigration this morning anyway to get it done. A bit out of my way but at least it's done.
