|
|
I just got interviewed, and pretty sure SMOE is going to hire me...
But the date is for February 26th that I must be in Korea! I don't even have a criminal background check done, much less my visa in processing. Does anyone have any idea of how long the Vancouver Police takes to give you back a record check? Or how long it takes to get the VISA from the Korean consulate in Vancouver?
I think I'm totally being rushed here... did anyone remember how long these things take? |

Not sure about Canada, but after sending off my NOA and everything else on a Saturday, I got my visa in my passport the next Friday- done a week faster than I thought it would be....
Of course youre at square one... do what you can to get the CBC ASAP and take it from there..... stranger things have happened, so see what can be done. |

I don't know if this is a small-town Saskatchewan benefit, but I got my CRC from the RCMP here in 10 minutes. Then I had to get a notarized copy. THEN I had to send it to the consulate in Vancouver for an apostille. So I'd try and get all of that done tomorrow, if you can. I assume that if you're in Van you can just go down to the consulate for the apostille.
And the visa process isn't just with the consulate...you have to send all your docs to Korea first, wait for them to process it, and THEN schedule an interview with the consulate (they recommend five days advance on that. I think they do interviews Wednesday and Friday, but double check on their website). |

do you need an interview in Canada if it's an NOA with EPIK, GEPIK or SMOE? because the websites for US consulates say they are waived in that instance.
hard to believe all this got so complicated so fast a few years ago.... |

I think they say the longest is 3 weeks. I think I got mine between 10-14 days. |
