[Real Reality]

The Seoul Metropolitan Government said yesterday it has revised rules for having pets in apartments, saying the permission of neighbors will now be required before an animal can be kept.

According to the new rules, if a person living in a tower complex wants to have a pet, he or she is required to get approval from more than half of the residents living in the same block. Apartment dwellers with a pet also need the approval of more than half of the residents living on the same floor.

Yes you can get a dog - but I would like 50,000 won for me to say that yes. (of course this all in Korea). We have entered into a whole another area of bribery.

How about asking someone about getting a cat. Koreans on a whole hate and are scared of cats. I mean scared. Big dogs are scary at times. Yet most koreans think they look cute. Wait till that dog tears a kids ear off. But a cat. If it bothers you - give it a kick and it will go. If you kick a dog you could end up digging fido teeth from your ankles.

id ike to see a neighbor of mine in any country try to take away my pet after i bought it because i didnt ask, that's very very funny, it's none of their damn business, it's my house. there's a kid who always screems in the palce above me, no one asked me permision

there are not really any "houses" in this country. U know what i mean. U missed my point which was even though the governemnt says they are going to enfore some new rediculous law, doesnt mean it's gonna happen. Are they gonna check to see if the neibghor actaully signed it...it could a friend of the person instead. People have a right to have pets, and i doubt the government, especially the korean government or any government for that matter is gonna be able to regulate that

I just moved into a 13 floor building- does this qualify as a tower (I'm assuming it does )? Does this rule only apply to people moving-in after the deadline, or does it mean that I had better start getting permission from people now? Arrgh! Oh- I live in Incheon. Do you think this only applies to people pets) in Seoul? Grrr... If they legislate pets, what's next? The # of children you can have?

I saw a story about this on the news a couple of nights ago. It reported that the new "law" is only voluntary, i.e., residents of the apartment block must first vote to subject themseleves to the regulation.

I certainly hope this law does not apply to chickens. But then why should it? Chickens are people too, you know.
