for those of you that work at public school and do an afterschool program in addition.....how much do they pay you? and mins per class?

Have an offer right now of 30k per 50 min class which I will probably take. Just wondering what other programs pay? I know it varies but anyway

I taught the A/S program at our school and received my contracted overtime rate for them. They were 40 minute classes.

Usually somewhere between 30K and 40K for 45 min classes. Even at 20K, they are money for jam.

Hey, I like this set up. Sometimes my classes have five students. I would probably promote my classes with flyers and such if there was an incentive like this. Each year I usually get at least 3 loyal students who sign up for all my after school classes and camps. The rest are made up by poor kids who are subsidised by the city that rarely show up.

I hate after school classes. I would rather not do them if i can have a say. The additional 400k won/month is not worth it. I can make that much in a third of the time eating dinner for free with Koreans Smile

I have to do them. Contract states the school can have you teacher up to 28 classes a week. Any over will be at your consent. So 8 classes are "after school," but falls under my normal working schedule at a 20,000won per class that i rather not do.

I believe the other 3 teachers at my school hates it just as much. They put the worst kids in these after school classes. Those that can't afford to go to hagwons Smile
