|
|
Does anyone know what hours the Korean consulate in Fukuoka will accept visa applications? I heard at one point that it is from 9am until 11am. But the recruiting agency that my school used says that the application drop off time is from 9am until 11am AND from 1:30pm until 3:30pm.
If anyone knows, please let me know if it's also possible to drop off the application in the afternoon and still pick up the passport with an E2 the next day.
Unfortunately I can't find more information on this at the consulate website.

My school has me booked on a flight that will arrive in Fukuoka on Thursday at 10:50am, so there's no way that I can get to the consulate before 11am. And my return flight to Korea is on Friday (6pm). I want to avoid potential problems.
(Before anyone points it out, yes I originally posted this on the travel forum but got no replies so i deleted it there and reposted it here. It's been moved, not multiple posted.) |

When you get to Fukuoka, go DIRECTLY to the consulate and file your paperwork. Do not wait for others or eat lunch or anything else. Do that later. |

I planned on going directly to the consulate. The potential problem is that my flight doesn't get into Fukuoka airport until 10:50am (my employer booked it, not me). So I can't get there for the 9-11am shift. I wanted to be sure that I CAN hand in the application in the afternoon shift on Thursday and then pick up the visa on Friday (my flight back to Korea is Friday evening).
If the consulate isn't going to accept the application and give it back on Friday then i have to discuss it quickly with my boss. |

Was there a few weeks ago and you CAN drop off the application after lunch. (1 or 1.30, can'r remember). I think it may be pick up is only in the morning.
I did the afternoon drop anyhow so you are sorted.
If you go straight there and have time to kill there are some nice eateries in the mall opposite. Cheap (real) Indian food for one.
Enjoy. I love and miss Japan. |

Just so that anyone else going in the future knows, I'll post what I found out while there.
The drop off time is from 9 to 11 am and from 1 to 3pm. The next day you can pick up the passport with visa from 10am to 11am and from 1pm to (not sure of the limit there but it's probably 3pm). You can definitely pick it up in the afternoon. Some of the other people there getting visas were told that since they had an early flight out of Fukuoka, that they could come in at 9am and pick up their passports with the visa.
It was 5000 Yen. Single entry, E2 visa. |
