I contacted Aclipse(a recruiter). They suggested I try working with Chungdahm Academy, which is one of the biggest hagwon chains in Korea. Aclipse told me Chungdahm pays well and its schools are well-organised and supplied with teaching materials. Oh goody! I thought. I taught in a Hagwon with no materials, and it was hard. What is Chungdahm like? Have you heard of them? Can you give me feedback about them?

I am told I can work 30 hours per week and earn as much as 3000 000 won monthly! REALLY? I can also work 96 hours per week and get 2,200000 won per month.

Give me feedback, please.

Wonka,

If you are interested in Chungdahm Academy, they are also known as CDI (Chungdahm Institute) and CDL (Chungdahm Learning). I suggest running a search on this site using those terms.

You will find a range of views about CDI on here. I had a pretty good experience with them but some have not.

I am considering working with CDI/CDL as you call them. Although Korea seems to be a place where they fire a lot of teachers too early.
the first time I taught kids was in Korea, 30 teaching hours and almost no preparation time, in a very small school with no resources. I got fired early, like the other westerners there. But is Chungdahm well -resourced, do you think? What was good about them?I might choose their 2nd option with 96 hours. .
