So leaving Korea next month, and trying to put together everything I need to do before then:

Go to Pension office, get pension refund (are the pension offices open on weekends?)

Ask school about when I'll get airfare reimbursement and severance pay

Send money home and close Korean bank account

Turn in ARC card on the way out

Anything else I missed? Other than the obvious packing up.

Also, do I need to go to the pension office nearest to my region or can I go to any of them?

Don't expect to walk out of the pension office with a check. They'll ask where you'd like it to be transferred to, and it usually takes 2 weeks to a month to process/deposit.

Tell me what you think of my plan.
I'm going to leave my bank accounts open.
I'm going to make sure I have a digital certificate that
is good for at least a few months.

If my school can't send the money to my Bank of America account
then I have a way of getting the money.

Also, is there an advantage to having the KEB account where
any deposit is automatically sent via SWIFT to an account in another
country? I think it said there was a discount on the rate or something.

By the way Bank Of America has a no monthly fee online checking account
if you open it online. BOA is one of the banks with no intermediary fee
when sending from KEB.
