I'm soon to be heading home for a little while and will be taking the airport bus to Incheon airport. Can anyone tell me:

- Is there one airport stop and you need to get yourself to the departure terminal or does it make an individual stop there?
- Are the stops announced in English also?
- Around how much will I be paying?

Anything else important I need to know?

Thanks in advance from a nervous traveller Smile

depends where you are travelling from. I know certain buses have increased their fee to 14,000 won from 9,000 from a few months ago.

Announcements are made in English

There are usually two stops.
I think the first is domestic, the second is international. There is a place you can print coupons online, but I'm not sure where it is. Regular fee is 9000, you got a 3000 discount. That was at the end of November.

Here is the thing:
If you're going home for a short trip and not taking that much with you...
take the train, unless you're leaving really early or late.

Depending on where you are the time will be very similar or possibly faster.

It will also be reliable. You won't get caught up in any random traffic jams.

Yes, you need to transfer once or twice, but I went all the way from the east side and the transfers were fine with a carry on and one big wheeled suitcase. There are elevators at all transfers.

It is also cheaper. Even with the discount ticket, you're paying 6000.

From the east side, which was around 1 hour and 20 minutes with 2 transfers it cost me about 4200 in metro fare.

Yes, head to gimpo, you can transfer at gimpo, you'll get charged extra there, but you can use your metro card. I think the fee is an extra 2200-2400 to take the express train from Gimpo to Incheon. I thought it was a nice ride, with a decent view. Basically there is a small gate where you scan out of the metro system and then scan into the express line.
add them up and you'll figure out how much it cost you.

The train takes a lot longer...just take the bus. Take the direct bus from Bundang to Incheon. Get off when you see the airport. Should be easy.

It depends where you're coming from. The train time is almost identical to the bus time from where I live. If I hit any traffic jams of any substance it takes longer to take the bus.

[edit]Ah. I missed where she said she was in Bundang.
Yes, some places might lead to a convoluted and round about train ride to get there.

Seohyun station (or any of the others along the yellow line that have purple bus (airport limo) pickups) to Incheon airport is only 60 minutes (allowing for traffic). It takes that long just to take the train into Seoul.

If you`re carrying suitcases/heavy bags then just take the bus......it`s a fairly lengthy walk from ICN Airport station to the terminal itself. For the sake of 5,000 won , take the bus .....especially as you don`t live near to the express line number 9 either.
