Applying for my ARC in Seoul even though I work in another region?

I have taught in Korea and had an E-2 visa in the past. I know most apply for their ARC when they are at there job and apply at the Immigration office near their home. I want to apply in Seoul as I will process much of my backgrond paperwork there and I would like to know it is approved up front. If it is not acceptable it will be much easier to make arrangements while in Seoul (ie were my home embassy is located).

Is there any problem if I apply for my ARC in Seoul even though it is not the closest Immigration office to my home and work?

It doesn't matter what office is closer, you have to get your ARC from the office that has jurisdiction over your "place of residence".

When I Lived in Bundang (Seohyun) I had to go to the Seoul Mokdong office but the school was in the Suwon office jurisdiction so changes at school (addition/change of workplace, etc) had to be done at the Suwon office and changes to my ARC had to be done at the Seoul office. It was a pain in the azz but that's life.

Grrrr... that is disappointing. Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I do still plan on getting my health check done in Seoul. I hope that is accepted by my local Immigration office in the province.

Ditto on what he said.

I live in Uijeongbu and work in Seoul. My ARC had to be processed here (in Uijeongbu), but that's a good thing because the office was sooo much less crowded. The only bad thing was that everybody, including me, thought it had to be processed where my workplace was - so I made a couple of trips to the Seoul office (a 1 hour subway ride) before somebody finally realized I needed to go to the immi office with jurisdiction over my home (a 2 minute walk).

You don't get your ARC until after you get your visa. You may need to do paperwork in Seoul to get your visa issued, but your ARC is guaranteed to be "approved" once you get your visa. Your ARC is just your ID, not something that can be denied.

I think you're confused or just writing what you want to ask poorly.
