Where should my wife and I go? We can only travel from Feb 16-22. We have a budget of about $2000 usd. We were interested in Hong Kong, but because of the Chinese New Year, the hotels are either fully booked or double their usual price. I've been to Malaysia, Bali, and Guam many times and just got back from Thailand recently. Looking to chill on a beach and do a bit of shopping. Night life is not the important for us. Help! |

I agree. Philippines.
Bohol is a little quieter and Boracay is a little more exciting. Both are good. |

Bohol (alona beach) has better access to shopping (Tagbilaran) but boracay has a nicer beach (not that there is anything wrong with Alona).
Prices are mostly reasonable. Nice places from US$40 per night. Top end is
alona Palm at $200 per night.
Personally I like the beach front cottages at Alona Tropical ($25-30 per night including breakfast for 2). |

i only had a week so we went to Manila & boracay
since you have more fund and more time, i think you should explore you guys will need to spend at least few days in boracay because its beautiful. make you you slot more than one day in Manila
and if you do decide to go to Manila please do the horse carriage tour of the intramuros wall and please try to find a tour guide named Mike. he was amazing. truly passionate about history and the wall. its always good to have someone who is passionate because its more fun that way!
i've had friends that have been to bohol, and cebu all very beautiful. also try to go up north where the mountains are.
philippines are definate most go back place for me! 7007 islands to explore |
