At least that is what I think she is saying. I often have trouble following her, but my interpretation of what she says in this interview is that she thinks war with Iran is a good idea. (Her use of the term 'war card' is confusing.)

I've also decided that she has decided to run for the White House in '12. That's how I read her speech over the weekend.

I have to say, seeing Sarah Palin run for President would be precious if only because of the possibility of an Obama/Palin debate. I can see how Fox News would try to spin that all ready. "President Obama came off as harsh, lecturing, and overly-aggressive in his debate with Sarah Palin, and the majority of the questions asked were clearly gotcha style politics as usual. This is nothing more than the liberal media practicing the politics of personal destruction, and Obama's clearly sexist too," aired after Fox chose to end coverage of the debate shortly after it started and cut straight to the pundits.

This woman has become an idol for the most retarded aspects of American conservative thought. She doesn't actually do anything or produce any insightful notions; she doesn't even have a clear and coherent opinion on policy. She's simply something that the more mentally vacant of America's conservatives project their own ideas onto. Her ineptitude, lack of intellect, lack of knowledge, and unethical behavior are all totally irrelevent, because everything about Sarah Palin is irrelevent to the people who have turned her into the object upon which their political religion is centered.

With regards to the actual interview, I can't believe this retard is seriously suggesting another war (and after her active defense of and endorsement of Rush Limbaugh's use of the word retard, I assume she'd be happy with my satirical use of it as well).

I can't disagree with that.

It looks to me like she'll spend the next couple of years or so using her own personal TV studio (built by Fox) as her pulpit while leaving once a month or so to make a big in-person appearance. Her formal announcement will come late, after having built up suspense--Will she or won't she?--in some dramatic fashion, playing it as if she were drafted by the public.

I'm still not convinced she can win the nomination--all three recent GOP victories have been by people not running as wing nuts, unlike the NY-23 guy who lost. In my book (at this point) there's a 50/50 chance she'll run 3rd party (the Birther-Secessionist Party--the BSers.)

America is almost in financial ruin because of the two wars they are already in (plus a huge military budget).

If Palin becomes President the deficit will probably even get worse.

I'm almost to the point where I hope she gets elected. The system's in the toilet anyways, why not make it utterly apparent to everybody?

Pretty sure we all ready did this with Bush, and it didn't really help.

Bush was a straight-talking, fair-dealing genius compared to this one.

Ugh. My parents are actually kind of on the bandwagon, and all. Not totally on it, but they definitely see her as "good people." I truly don't get how anybody can fall for this kinda junk.

OH MY GOD.

I just had dinner with my parents and after (inadvisably) starting a conversation on politics, my dad goes "So, why won't Obama show his birth certificate?"

WTF.

They haven't even lived in the States for 40 years. My mom was a sitting Liberal MLA (a pretty blue Liberal, but still). WHAT GOES ON IN AMERICAN'S BRAINS THAT CHANGES THEM FROM SENSIBLE PEOPLE INTO FROTHING IDIOTS WHEN POLITICS COMES UP?

Slightly off-topic, perhaps, but a propos. Also, I just really needed to vent. Please get me to Korea, soon.

It's hard to tell. Normally, to 'play the X card' has a negative connotation, as in 'play the race card'. To play the war card has been used similar to October Surprise, wherein something dramatic is done just before the November elections in an attempt to sway the election. As Wallace asked in his interview question when he used 'cynical'.

But it isn't clear Palin means it that way. She seems to mean just to go to war. She said she got the idea from Buchanan. I'd like to see the context he used it to see what she means.

I wouldn't count on an illiterati like Palin actually understanding the connotations of basic idiomatic phrases. She seemed very positive about the prospect of going to war with Iran to me.

War with Iran on Palin's campagin ticket in 2012 = big AIPAC $$$

Obama has been talking about setting conditions on Israel's annual gift of 3 billion (plus numerous perks) in relation to illegal settlements...

You figure it out. What's gonna happen in 2012?
