Okay, this is a little confusing so bear with me.

My visa expires this Friday, Feb 12.

On that day (Feb 12), I leave Korea and go on a trip overseas.

On Feb 20, I will return to Korea, drop off some stuff, and leave Korea again to another place. I do have to go through immigration beacuse I do need to get out of the airport to drop stuff off.

On March 7, I return to Korea, getting out of the airport, picking up some stuff and last minute errands, and spending two nights in Korea.

On March 9, I will permanently leave Korea.

So, since I won't actually have an teaching visa, but each time I am not spending a day or two in Korea, and I DO have an exit ticket at each time, would I have a problem at the two times entry into Korea? I am not sure if there would be a problem or not, but just in case, I wanted to see.

By "visa" I assume you mean ARC expiry date?

I cant see why there'd be any problem. Routine tourist stamp on each reentry.

Your ARC expiry (likely different from your visa) overrules any dates in your passport. Hopefully you've considered that.

If you overstay your ARC expiry, you're in for some hurt.

I didn't mean the PASSPORT expiry date. I meant the E2 Visa, which they stick on your passport, expiry date. (like this: http://travelingtolive.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/koreaaug2006-4-300x225.jpg
-not my actual visa)

And anyway, the e2 visa expiry date I have is Feb 12 (because that is when I went to the Korean consulate) and the ARC is Feb 27 (technically end of my contract but I saved my vacation days and are leaving early, with permission). my passport doesn't expire until 2017.

Should I hand in my ARC card when I leave on my first trip (feb 12), or should I wait until I leave for my second trip (feb 20)?

wait for the second trip if you have a valid multi-entry permit.

Do I need a reentry permit if I am just coming to Korea and leaving immediately? I thought I only needed it if I came back to Korea without an exit ticket.

When you leave the first time your e2 will be canceled, hand in your arc. You will no longer be on an e2, when you come back you will be on a tourist visa. When you come back the second time you will be on a second tourist visa.

To confirm call immigration

Hi There,

If it is any more then a direct flight onward (that is if you are leaving the airport while in Korea) and you want to work with your workplace again you will need the re-entry.

US, Aus and Canada will get a 90 day tourist visa for touring only upon arrival.

If you need to go back to your school for some classes or tie things up with them (even if they will pay you later etc) definitely get the reentry permit. It could be useful to keep your work valid.

If you are finished with the work and have better things to do why not just get a tourist visa? 90 days for Australia I think the US and longer for Canada.

They may not accept re entry on arrival on the work visa without checking it and that means a re entry permit. If you don't have one they may say 'sorry' and stamp you with a tourist visa because to them you may have finished work.
