Does anybody have any experience of leaving Korea whilst on an F5 visa and if so, what did you have to do to make sure that it wasn't cancelled? |

Different answers from different people - you know how it is when you call there - the left hand doesn't know where the right hand is, let alone what it is doing..... |

It is not a problem (no re-entry permit required) until you are out of Korea for a year. How long are you going to be gone? |

You can leave without problem for 1 year. If you stay out of Korea for 1 year your F-5 is canceled. I read this off the Immigration web-site when I processed my F-5 three years ago. May want to check yourself but I had no issues coming back from vacation in Bora Bora. |

If you get a re-entry permit you can stay gone up to 2 years. If it's anything like the US coming in for a week restarts the clock. But my question is if you get the permit and come back to visit every 2 years would they let you keep it? I also wonder if you lose it can you re-apply for the F-5 or do you have to go back to the F-2-1 again and wait the 2 years ?! |
