I was just curious to know if anyone hasbeen informed off the changes that will taking place from the start of next semester? No one at my school speaks English very well and I'm not sure that anyone knows what is going on anyway. The vice principle had a very broken conversation with me the other day and what I gleaned from it was this.
-Schools will be hiring another English teacher (not sure if Native teacher or Korean) for the start of the new semester.
- One teacher will teach 3rd and 4th only , the other 5th and 6th.
- More classes for all grades.
Anyone else heard anything about this ? I check these boards regularly enough and I don't think anyone else has mentioned his. |

I've heard about the possible hiring of another English teacher - seems they will be outsourced though, not employed through smoe.
I have the 3rd and 4th grade textbooks. They have 16 units now, which makes sense as now they will meet twice as week. The first 8 units are the same as last year's.
I don't think there will be changes for 5th/6th grade yet. If they do add a 3rd class a week, I think that's where that new English teacher steps in. |

If os can you list the NEXT 8 topics with a brief overview, like VERY brief.

Actually I'm mistaken. They aren't all in the same order. Here are the lesson topics
3rd grade:
Hello I'm Minsu
What's this?
It's a monkey
happy birthday
wash your hands
this is for you
i like apples
how many cows
i have two pencils
i can swim
it's cold
can you jump?
open your books
merry christmas!
it's bed time
may i come in?
4th grade
Nice to meet you

sorry, i can't

That will suck if they change agin, perhaps they put this together last ninute and want some changes.
DO you by any chance have a digital copy you could email if I PM's you with an emial address.
There are few Units Id love some Clarification on the NEW 8 Units if you dont mind reactionary

it's time for lunch - Working with Time and what various times of the day corresond to?
here you are Working on giving and recieving of items?
let's go shopping? Working on prices and other stuff, and talking about various kinds of stores?
where is the restroom? Working on asking directions to near locations?

what time do you go to bed? SImilar to "time for lunch" taking this any further?

interesting that KICE hasn't even officially announced which books passed the evaluation process, and yet it seems like your school has somehow already chosen the new texts they will use.
would you please post who the publisher for that book is, and list the names of the writers?

How do you know that it hasn't been annoucned yet? Anywho, I have the same new books on my desk, which has already been passed out to incoming 3rd and 4th graders by their current homeroom teachers  |

KICE is a wing of the MOE which sanctions and evaluates textbooks

i know because i'm a writer on one of the teams, which submitted texts to KICE for review. Maybe the top 3 or 4 teams have already been notified, but the rest of the teams haven't received a word.
please list the publisher and/or the writers for the book which you have been given. |
