Hey guys, I had kind of a strange situation and wanted to know if I'd have any trouble exiting the country:
So, my contract is up at the end of February. However, my E2 visa's good until June, I just won't be working during that time.
Now, my boss is buying me a one-way ticket home, as stated in the contract. I'll be at home for maybe 3 weeks in March.
However, I'm not sure what airport I will be departing from to return to Korea. I want to wait and buy that ticket until I'm at home, and know where exactly I'll be right before I make my return.
So, I was wondering: Will immigration give me any headache if I try to leave the country with a one-way ticket, intending to return? I obviously need to keep my ARC and everything, and don't want to give it back quite yet.
(also, apologies if the wording in my post is confusing... I'm kind of tired) |
Immigration won't care about your ticket leaving the country. |

I'm not sure, but dont you have to surrender your ARC once your contract is up or just when you leave country |

Well, I know I have to surrender my ARC when I leave the country for good, but as far as immigrations concerned, I'm working until June, when my E2 expires. And since I'm coming back to the country, I'm not quite ready to give up the ARC yet! |

You ARE aware that NOT informing your local immigration office of your termination of employment within 14 days of the end of work IS ILLEGAL.
You are required by law to inform them (or turn in your ARC as you leave) within 14 days of the material change in your employment or sponsorship.
Just so you know. |
