| Hi, I want to bring my skateboard to Seoul. I basically want to use it to commute short distances (under 2 miles). Do most people skate on the streets or on the sidewalks in Seoul? I know the sidewalks are wide, but are they too congested to ride on? |

This is all a surprise to me. I've been in Korea almost 5 months and only seen one kid with a skateboard.......
I'm def interested in hearing more about these parks in the Incheon/Gyeonggido area. I need to get my hands on a deck too. I had a dogtown original mini, complete with rat bone wheels and all, back home. The thing was only big enough to do some powerslides on land, but I did manage to drop in on half pipes with it and bust a few rock to fakies. Before moving here, I had to choose between my skate or my snowboard, and with all the mountains in mind, the choice was pretty easy back then. But now that it's Spring I really wanna get back into skating again. |

LG Sakers,
My husband and I are in Ulsan and he's a pretty good BMXer if you are looking for someone to hit up the local parks with. |

| Where's the best place to get a complete deck? I went to a shop in Itaewon, but they wanted 200k. Is that pretty standard? |

| Not really sure, to be honest. I brought two from home... Try a Google search for skateboarding + Dave's ESL. I remember some thread about it. |

| I skate bowls back home, but didn't bring my board with me. I imported an old school board from the States to Korea, cost around 300 including shipping. I didn't mind shelling out because they last for ages and if you average out the cost per skate -- considering how much fun your consistently having -- then it is not really a lot of money. Also, you mostly get what you pay for in terms of deck and hardware quality. Get out there and do it! |
