Hey All- I'm currently applying to EPIK for the August term. Right now I've chosen DAEGU as my first choice and DAEJEON as my second, BUSAN is my third. I haven't read too much about DAEGU but it seems like a good choice to be in the middle of everything. Any opinions from people who lived/have lived in DAEGU or DAEJEON?

My main question is that I'm trying to figure out what age group to teach. Could anyone share their experiences with teaching elem. school, middle school or high school kids? What age group has more field trips? Did you struggle with lesson planing with your age group? Any information you can give me would be great. I'm a 25 y/o American Female, and I did work as a camp counselor for elem. and middle school kids, but that's all the contact I've really had with them.

Thanks so much! Smile

I taught elementary level and they were great. I liked to do lots of games, practical activities and music.

The thing I hate most is the darn CDROM's and 'listen and repeat'.

Some classes will be better at English than others but generally the abilities at my school were basic, is what you would expect for that age group.

Help them along and be kind.

It depends on you. I do elementary . I much prefer teaching the older grades just because I feel that I can do more and make more interesting games and activities based on their English ability.
I would do Middle school if I applied again. Little Kids are cute but teaching games etc on three word phrases like "I like apples " etc isn't for me.
