|
|
Good morning,
I came to Seoul last week with what I believe to be all of my documents in hand (original degree, CRB check and transcripts). I already had an E2 visa in 2008/09 obtained from a set of transcripts I got in 2008.
Anyway, a recruiter just called me and during the conversation she said that my transcripts must be dated within the last three months!
I've never heard of this, and it's kind of got me a bit worried (not to mention pissed off if its true!) as I have a couple of interesting jobs available for my taking asap and naturally, I don't wan't to have to wait for a new set to be sorted out and delivered over...
Does anyone know about this?
Thanks |

I've heard of this requirement before, but I have never heard of it being enforced. I assumed it was since universities don't date transcripts. So I'm not sure if your recruiter just doesn't know this is not enforced by immigration, or that immigration just started enforcing this. |

There is no date on my transcripts anywhere except for the dates of attendance at the University.
I think that it is a pretty ridiculous rule anyway. What does it matter if they are 100 years old as long as they are genuine. I have one friend that went to a university that doesn't exist anymore. It got taken over and re-named. How could she get new transcripts? |

I had four sets, so I opened one of them. On one of the attached sheets, it is signed and dated by one of the administrative staff at the university.
I've tried calling immigration but they're on lunch at the minute. I'll keep you posted...like I said, I'm gonna be mighty pissed if it's true. |

Well, I tried immigration several times and lost patience waiting on the phone to speak to someone. In the meantime I had 3-4 other recruiters call and they all dispelled my concerns and assured me it doesn't matter... |

They will accept them. |
