Hey guys,
In a moment of madness I just bought a Korean keyboard for my British laptop/notebook.
I can get it to connect, but it only types in English... any ideas how I get it to type in Korean?
Thanks! |

Depending on your O/S (XP, vista, win7), add the Korean IME.
The method will vary depending on which O/S you are using. |

Some of them are as easy as hitting the "한/엉" key next to the space bar. But I think that only works on Korean windows; still give it a try.
Took me hours to get it working, so I don't remember any of the steps. I played around in the control panel and added the "east Asian fonts" in somewhere.
Good luck |

I used this site to help me type in Korean: http://jr.naver.com/typing/
It's awesome b/c you learn by playing typing games. Pretty addictive until it gets boring.
As for typing in Korean, you have to go into Control Panel, click on Region & Languages, install East Asian language pack (maybe), then add the Korean Keyboard. Once that is done, select Korean from the language bar. The switch between English/Korean, press the right ALT key.
Hope that helps. |

Just so interested parties know--- the ability to type in Korean is entirely in the software, not the keyboard. You can buy a set of stickers for about 1000 won and apply them to the keyboard you already have if you need a Korean keyboard.
Getting your computer to be able to type Korean is something else again. I did exactly what HalfJapanese suggested months ago, to no avail. Wound up having to take my laptop into the shop. where a serviceman got my keyboard typing Korean for a 15000 won service charge. |

That Korean Typing Tutor recommended by HalfJapanese is Too Much Fun!
I just finished the home row keys; a space cat fires missiles with the letter on them at you and you have to hit the letter to destroy the missile.
Big 감사합니다 (yes, still having to hunt and peck to type that) |
