I've been told Costco will start importing Special K Red Berry cereal again around the end of March or early April.

This has been a great dissapointment for me every time I have been to costco.

The choices that they have are limited. I loved the special k and I know many do and cant wait for it to come back.

I will do more trips to costco now that it is coming back.

Well it took pestering Costco and the KFDA to get answers. The good thing out of this is if anyone wants a contact at the KFDA, I have a nice in with them.

Costco needs another shipment of cinnamon almonds. Those were awesome.

Wylies,

I don't know, that might be a vendor issue. I have a contact at CostCo as well. Bugging these people turned out to be so much fun.

I miss several items that Costco used to carry. When I originally signed up, one reason was for the jalapeno potato chips (Tim's Kettle Chips).
I liked their Soyquitos too.
I liked their old version of cinnamon buns better than their super nutty one now.
They used to have havarti cheese slices too.
Oh, and there was also a pretty decent frozen lasagna imported from Australia (Jaribali or something like that).

EDIT: Almost forgot, they used to carry Sunkist shelled pistachios. I don't care to do all that shelling myself.

Flak,

I might take up a list and hit them up once they have Special K back on the shelf. I'll have to work it into a conversation (you know, hey thanks but I have a longer list of gripes LOL). It took me six months just to find out that it was an KFDA issue and not a Costco issue with the cereal.

Frozen lasagna, no kidding? That would be awesome now that I have a small oven. Making that stuff is a pain in the ass. Tried it last year and it was crap. I may try again this year before it gets too warm to use the oven, but I'm seriously skeptical about my own cooking abilities.

If you haven't tried the Tillamook Cheese, you should buy some of that. It's from my home state of Oregon. Even got my Korean mother-in-law hooked on it.

Thanks. I've had the Tillamook pepperjack. It's pretty good, but those havarti cheese slices made such smooth and creamy mac and cheese. There are probably other things gone that I've just forgotten about or found substitutes for. They occasionally add something I like though. They recently added Whoppers, but I haven't allowed myself to pay that much money for so many cartons of malted chocolate balls.

Yeah I saw those. That's more malted milkballs then one should eat in a lifetime.

When I was in Boracay I found smaller boxes of granola bars for cheaper and brought back a few. They are so damn expensive at Costco. That and four bags of M&M's, which you can only find at the larger stores since they stopped importing stuff from China.

Some of you may need to visit the Ilsan Costco. It's larger than the other stores and has more varities of some of your favorites.

That might be good to do once, but way too far on a regular basis. Do let us know if anything on our "list" is there though and we won't ask them for it.

Just a tad off topic, but does anyone notice how the special K in Korea is way different than the special K in North America? I have to say I prefer the special K in Korea...

brento,

If you are talking about the Special K sold in the regular store (in the white box), yes it is very different. I bought that by mistake and it was like eating cardboard (actually cardboard would taste better then that version). The Special K sold by Costco is imported from the US.

Ask about mac and cheese and dried pineapple/mango. Thank them for their efforts in bringing in Amarula for Christmas.
