Hey y'all
I have a problem but perhaps techno experts can help out.
Came home for the winter vacation and a friend offered me an institutional copy of windows 7 (from his workplace) to use to change over from windows xp.
It works fine but...
drivers are missing - the sound driver and critically the network controller!
My notebook is a Samsung Sens X06 - about 3-4 years old. On the Samsung website there is no network driver that I can download that works.
Similarly, searches of general driver download sites have produced no results.
Frustratingly there are plenty of free downloads of prgrams that will search your system, identify the drivers you need and connect you to relevant websites - but if you can't connect to the web these are useless.
My guess is the notebook won't recognise the win7 drivers and my laptop is not modern enough to have its drivers online...
Probably just have to wait to get back to Korea and reinstall the old XP
What do you think? |

Very soon, Windows will drop the hammer of illegal copies of Windows 7. Not saying yours is, but something to keep in mind, anyway.
The update, however, can be avoided:

My understanding of this situation is that you will get notifications and they change your desktop to a warning notice, but functionality isn't affected. Off topic, but just saying. |

That's what the article is about. It's meant to be an annoyance. |

Bass, btw, your avatar rules.
No, not the part about the mods. I adore the mods. They rule. |
