Oh yeah, one other thing - in the days after the baby's born, when they try to jack up the heat beyond all reason, politely tell them to frig off. Contrary to Korean custom, too much heat isn't good for the baby, or for you.

When my wife (age 40 at the time and first child) gave birth to our son last year, it was by c-section.
We chose a c-section out of necessity. Our son was suffering from fetal stress and had to come out!!!
(My only complaint was that, even though my son was having difficulties in the womb, the doctor would not operate without my express and written permission. They would not let my wife sign herself in.)
I was there for the whole time and was impressed with the quality of the work.
The doctor did a bang up job.
For the cutting, he used a laser scalpel.
The needle work afterwards was superb.
My wife was in a great deal of pain afterwards (of course, major surgery, large incision) but was home after 3 days.
Her room in the hospital looked like something from a five star hotel.
(I chose her a private room on the top floor of the hospital)
The babies were kept in a little room off of the elevator.
To see them, the visitors would have to pick up the phone and order a viewing.
We never had a problem with getting our son in to our room
Our son was born at night but my wife started breastfeeding the next day.
The nurse brought him into the room, opened up my wife's gown and showed us the fine art of breastfeeding.
The whole thing was expensive (2.4 million for operation, room, et al) but worth it.
The hospital was clean, well equipped and modern.
I would recommend it to anyone.
