Going at the beginning of March. Flying into Tokyo and definitely want to spend some time there. I really wanted to go to Kyoto and/or Hiroshima, but the trains are pretty expensive and the logistics for everything else are causing headaches.
Tokyo is huge and I think I'll have enough to do if I stay there the whole time. I'm just worried I'm going to end up spending far too much money or will get sick of the craziness of being in such a huge city.
Any suggestions/ideas/day trips close by/etc?
Sure this topic has been done a million times. Search is crap and I like to hear first hand experiences.
Cheers. |

I take it you know about the JR pass.
As for suggestions, Nikko is a fantastic place to go to....about an hour and half north of Tokyo. Temples/Chuzengi falls/nice mountain views etc. Get the Nikko pass (includes train /busfare/access to temples)..... |
