30 years.
| Quote: |
A man in his 20s hasbeen sentenced to prison for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl, making a videotape of the assault and then uploading it to the internet.
The 5th criminal division of the Busan District Court sentenced 25-year-old Mr. Yu to 30 months in prison for violating the law on the sexual protection of teenagers (청소년성보호). |
Hopefully, the bastard learns his lesson. |

| I'm sorry but that is ridiculous. 2.5 years? So if he hadn't uploaded it to the internet, (violation of privacy laws) would have only been a year. |

does the OP really think 30months for sexually assaulting, filming and distributing child-porn is tough??
"This guy sexually-assaults a 12 y.o., then produces Child Porn and then distributes the Child Porn and only gets 30 Months" ???
that sounds NOT tough to me.
the fact he maximizes her shame by making it public while flaunting his power over her to everyone, is asinine.
Whatever happened to the new laws made just 2-years ago - that stated if anybody sexually abuses, rapes etc etc a child again - the sentence would be very harsh, even the death penalty.
Apparently, all forgotten about - lets go back to 30 months???

When are the K news outlets gonna get some and start printing convicted criminals whole names. Is there a law against doing that or something?
"My. Yu from Busan" - yeah, that really narrows it down. These scumbags need to be shamed as part of their punishment, IMO. |

When it comes to the media, the privacy laws seem to be quite strong in this country. Have you watched a news broadcast? its nothing but blurred out videos and changes voices for an hour. |

It would have been more like nothing, because the police wouldn't have any evidence. Good luck getting a proper rape kit here.
Pretty sure the OP was being sarcastic. |

You guys like jumping to conclusions. If you read the Korean it just says "성폭행" which translates to sexual abuse. That is a very broad term, nothing says he raped the kid, but we don't know based on the term. It could have been rape, or consensual, or fondling, we don't know.
So based on the article we have no idea what exactly happened and what the appropriate sentence should have been. |

Like I have said in many previous threads (and then promptly deleted by someone) these guys will defend anything. Consensual fondling of a (korean age) 12 year old? "Well, OK, I guess it was consensual, so it's OK." Pathetic. |

In Korea - if somebody touches a child (underneath their clothes) touches their genitals, etc etc - it is called Sexual Harrassment.
The guy was convicted of Sexual ASSAULT, (it means he did MORE than just touch her private parts) the guy filmed it (making CP) the guy distributed it (uploading it to the internet).
and you think the people are jumping to conclusions by complaining that 30months is too short? |

+1
I don't agree with laws that throw someone in jail for life, but 30 months? WTF? That is just wrong. It should have been 15-20yrs. |
