Anyone recently change an E2 to a F2? My fiance/fiancee (I don't know which it is.. flame on) and I have had a date set for the ceremony for a while, and we plan to sign the papers tomorrow.

How do I go about changing my visa status to a F2? Do I need a new CBC? Do I need to have some magic amount of money in the bank?

I am from the United States if it makes any difference. Thanks for the help! Very Happy

Why not call immigration and ask them what they require? Typically, the best idea is to call the people responsible for such a request instead of unknown people on the internet with unknown motivations.

When you do call, get the person's name, and ask for them when you go in. That way you shouldn't have problems with "he said, she said" crap.

I don't think criminal checks are for F2s. F5s will get you a full background check, but they do that.

You generally need to show 30 million in assets between you. Includes property, bank accounts, and some posters have reported work contracts suffice.

definitely call as many have reported slight variances.

First, congrats. Second, ask your new wife to call immigration and take care of it.
