How do I do this? I thought my school might give me a hand but when I asked them they told me to do it myself. Understandable, don't know what I was thinking.

Where does one need to go to get it?

Cheers.

You need to go to the nearest pension office. You don't state where you live, but I believe your employer can tell you.

I needed to show my passport, ARC and plane ticket. I also needed a bank account in my home country, which I didn't have. They took down my address and mailed me a bank draft by DHL for the amount of my pension. It took about 4-6 weeks after I had filed the paperwork.

same as above, but you can also have it deposited into your korean account. you arent required to provide a foreign account for deposit. internet transfers from your korean account to your home account are quite simple if you have it set up at your korean bank. KEB is the easiest and most reliable bank I have used in korea. They have an automatic remittance account where any money that is deposited is instantly wired to your pre-arranged foreign account. you dont have to do anything, once it's set-up other than make the transfer or deposit to that account.

I went there. Thanks for the info, I had everything I needed.

They didn't say anything about wiring my money abroad though. My only choices were putting it in my Korean bank account four weeks after I had left or having it mailed to me by cheque in Canada. I asked if I could have it sent to my parents and they said no, because I'd have to sign for it myself.

Not many options, I was pretty annoyed. It's a lot of money. I'm going to have it put in my Korean bank account and then have some friends take it out and send it to me in Japan.

Irritating!

I had to show a scanned copy of my US bank account as well. Are they still doing that?

Not for me but I'm Canadian. Each country seems to have different rules/sets of paperwork.

When I read their form for overseas remittance and the expats website it seems to say the refund can be sent to your bank overseas. I am American,so maybe they send the money to US banks and other countries except for Canada. Confused
