Hey,

Have been offered a job at Paju English Village but some of the stuff written online by ex - staff does not sound too positive.

Does anyone know if it is a good place to work?

yeah, and the EV is even more in the sticks than Paju.

also, be sure to look for the youtube video 'kickin' it in Geumchon' by the EV Boys(z)

if you choose to live in Paju, you'll probably be spending most of your friday and saturday nights in Geumchon.....not bad, but it's no Hongdae.

cheers, checked the video out - classic.

Also got the search working on the site and found out most of the info I needed. Don't think that it is a good place or location to be working in.

well, it all depends on what you want. since i'm a little older now, i guess i wouldn't mind Paju, especially since my girl is there, but EV.....no thanks. you get practically no vacation and you have to share a flat with another teacher. screw that.

I've been to Paju EV 6 times in 2006, with my old school, not long after it opened in April 2006. The Canadian teacher I conversed with at my old school last year, said they no longer take the students there. Which surprised me, as the school was initially very keen. The employees (about 600) live in dormitory style accomodation, about 1 km north of the Disneyesque EV. The live entertainment was quite good in 2006, but maybe the place has gone downhill since then? Also quite a few blond haired & blue eyed Russians & Romanians worked there, with rudimentary English speaking ability.
