I am looking for my first english teaching job in korea.
I'm looking for places that have a morning to early evening schedule rather than an afternoon to late evening schedule.
I know of YBM, but are there any other private institutions that have earlier working hours?
specific names would be great.
thanks to anyone that can help |

Private institutes? Doubtful. Kids don't even finish regular public school until after 3. And most private school classes don't start until after 4:00.
Unless you want to teach kindergarten... |

Probably, but it would be teaching adults, not rug rats. You'd need to find someone with a corporate contract. Good luck. |

I teach 1:30-6:30, MWF and 2:30-7:30, Tue/Thu at a hagwon. Elementary and middle school.
So I guess that answer is pretty much "Yes." |

An institution that closes before 7 p.m. will be cutting a lot of revenue.
The only chance you have are specialized kindergartens, and even then. |

hell ya! y would you sign up for such long hours. i used to work 9-3 in a hogwon and know of peeps that finished at 4, or 5pm.
there's also after school u work from 12-4 of 12-5 or 12-6, or your regular afternoon hogwon 2-7 or 4-10...usually less hours if you take the afternoon shift |

well honestly there aren't too many of these positions, and they go pretty quick....but i did see a few in the past two weeks or so. they come up and go, so keep your eyes open or you might miss one. check every day and if you have a recruiter that you are working with let the brother know what exactly u want, he'll sure help ya out. afterall, you getting what u want = him getting paid.
don't forget to look into afterschools...hours are great! |
