Argh, I, the Tae Kwon Do Goddess of Kunsan have broken my bleepin' ankle. It happened on Friday night during a fight. Now I'm stranded with a cast and crutches in my SIX FLOOR WALKUP appartment. AND it's a long weekend! Just needed to vent there. So, any suggestions on how to enjoy a long weekend when stuck in one's appartment? Any other people with Tae Kwon Do injuries that want to share?

Walk about the streets and 'accidentally' trip other pedestrians with your crutches.

No current injuries due to TKD...though some big-a55 birds swooped down and attacked me today....

Shoosh!

Dwell on the error of your ways and come around to the realization that hapkido is a lot cooler.

You have my deepest sympathy. I broke my foot last year and had to cope with a 3rd floor walk-up.

My advice? Get real comfortable with asking for help. Get some good books. After a while you will probably become seriously tired of trying to sleep with a cast. Be patient. Oh, and chop sticks are great for scratching.

Good luck.

My sympathies, broke two toes last year, and couldn't even take a day off. My suggestions:

- learn to order pizza
-persuade friends to bring groceries and movies for you.
- let your students decorate your cast (They'll write "I love you teacher" all over it, and it'll just give you the warm fuzzies)
- Get used to even more attention from random Koreans, though they'll generally be very kind about it.

yea.. real sorry bro.. i saw this up all day and should have sent you a 'feel better' earlier.

my right hand is now broken.. i'll swap ya straight away.

i have broken too many bones in the past.. like 37. a foot or leg is defininately a hassle but don't trade it for a hand mate. at least you can still wipe your own butt without a hassle not to mention cook, brush your hair, teeth, writing, washing, wanking, typing, mouse using, getting dressed, etc...

anyways bro, it could be worse.. i hope you feel better soon..

ps. alcohol is a great past time when shit like this happens

Thanks for all of your support. I called my boss on Saturday and told her I definitly needed crutches. She thought this was HILARIOUS!! "Two crutches, why would you want two? All Koreans only use one!". I told her that Canadians think it's cool to have two and she conceded. Actually not the horrible weekend I imagined. My friends came through in the pinch and I ate better this weekend then I have in a month! Sleeping sucks though! Thanks again,
J
