I'm thinking something like the Pogues.

I know how to play the acoustic guitar and (if necessary) sing.
How fun it would be to share a bit of another culture.
Any violinists, banjo players, drummers, bassists, accordionists, mandolin players, etc. out there? |

I wish!
But if you decide you need an American talentless hack/tambourine player and back-up vocalist, you know where to find me. |

Are you only looking for Koreans to start your Irish band with? Or has your loneliness and isolation convinced you to lower your standards and hang out with the rest of us disgusting and disappointing expats?

Pogues coverband FTW!
I'm thinking of the Commitments right now. Like, a bunch of waegooks knocking on your door to demonstrate their various impersonations of contemporary artists who have nothing to do w/ your vision... Lady Gaga types etc (me) |

God, the Pogues are awful.
If you mistake the Pogues as being representative of Irish culture, perhaps you might want to bone up on cultural understanding/studies, etc.,etc., etc. |

I'm in Anyang. Musical guy. Wouldn't mind doing something like this with anyone around. Any instrument I can't play I probably can learn in 5 minutes.
*arrogant prat*
Except violin. And most other instruments. |

A friend used to play bodhran in an Irish-ish band in Seoul a few years ago. She went home a few years ago, but there's definitely a market for it- they played a lot of gigs. |

I'm a huge Pogues fan and would LOVE to be in an Irish band, but as an American with little Irish ancestry, I'd feel like such a phony actually doing it.
World Traveler- You've been wanting to meet more Korean friends. Maybe you could get some Adjossi's together and start an all-male Wondergirls cover band. I'd go to your shows! |
