I have a puppy that is about 9 months old. I'm very attached to it and I want to take it to korea when I go there in about a month. It is a small pitpull, and by small i mean small for a pitpull. I have lived in korea before and I know how much a pain in the butt it is owning a dog in Korea but what I want to know is how much trouble and cash does it cost to take the dog over?
Thank you

It's a hell of a long flight for an animal. It's also a lot of hassle and stress for it. Why not just leave it with someone at home? It's a much better option.

"Anybody have input on taking a dog to korea?"

Watch out so they don't clone it - and then eat them both. Ha ha. =D

Man, I knew someone was going to make that joke. I hate you for it to. HATE YOU. Time to hit some more Tanqueray before I throw my computer.

I am not sure about Pit Bulls in Korea but you can probably find the answer at Animal Rescue Korea Forums. I am planning to take my small dog to Korea as well (if I ever get a job) and that forum has provided me with a lot of information about the process. Hopefully that helps.

I do know that even if Korea allows pit bulls in, that each airline has different regulations when it comes to breeds.

It depends where you're coming from and the airline you're taking. The airline's website will have the information about bringing pets (they all have different size and container requirements). I brought my 2 cats and Korean Air did great with them. They rode in the climate-controlled cargo area. Cost is usually a certain amount per kilo.

As for customs requirements, if you're coming from the US then they need a state health certificate signed within 10 days of your departure (your vet can do this) and a rabies shot within 30 days of departure.

PM me if you have any more questions.

Guess what? You don't actually have to read the posts! Did you know that you can actually choose to simply ignore a post based on its subject? It's pretty neat.
