We have a standing A/C unit in our apartment and we're trying to sell it before we leave. If we can't find someone, a friend of ours has offered to hold on to it for us and help us find a buyer. But since it's a standing unit, it is connected by rubber tubes to an old (and heavy, and dirty) window piece that sits on a ledge outside our window. Is this part of the A/C? Do we have to sell them together, or can we sell the standing unit and leave the window thing here? It came with the standing unit when we bought it but I'm not sure that we specifically paid for it or if it was part of the "installation" fee...and are those things easy to find? If we sold the standing unit, could the buyer find one of those window boxes easy enough to set up the entire system?
We have no way of getting it off the window ledge and I'm afraid that trying to remove it will result in a 9-story plunge onto someone's car... |

They are part of the same unit. Your best bet is trying to sell it to a second hand dealer. Normal every day Koreans probably won't buy it 'cos they think second hand goods are haunted (or some such). |

Well damn. We bought it from a second-hand dealer and they refuse to buy it back. Looks like I'll be taking it apart; I'll try not to drop it on anyone walking by... |

Why are you so hell bent on hanging onto it? It seems like more trouble than it's worth. What is the thing worth, anyways? |
