Has anyone gotten their Visa from the Consulate in New York City within the last year or so?
I'm wondering what documents are needed. Obviously there is the Visa application itself, along with the fee, and I would imagine your contract. What else is needed?
I got this from the consulate's website:
* A passport
* A completed visa application form
* An interview manual form(Consul's check list)
* A photo(2"2" size, taken within the last 6 months)
* A certificate for recognition of visa issuance issued by the Korean Ministry of Justice
* An academic transcript
* A bio-data or resume including academic and vocational career
* $45 fee
Does that sound right? I'm only being redundant and asking because I've heard so many conflicting things. For example, I was told that the academic transcript was not necessary, as it was already sent to Korea in order to obtain the Visa number. Others have told me that I only need to bring my University diploma. That doesn't sound right, because my diploma is in Korea because it was needed to get the Visa number. (Actually, I have 2, but most people don't, so that sounds a bit weird.) Ridiculous. This is the biggest run around I've ever had to do for a foreign Visa.
One last question: Visa fee. Money order? Cash? Check?
Thanks for any help with this.
