It's frustrating! I'd like to use this last week to make my first lessons already. I may just borrow my friend's copy. Ugh!

Is anyone else in the same boat?

Why would you start the book on day one? Just make them a "Getting to Know You" lesson for the first week. They will hate you forever if you make them work their ass off from day one.

I don't want them to work their asses off. I want to make a fun powerpoint and possibly a game. Even if we don't use it the first day, I have all of this week to create lessons, as I'm deskwarming. I like to do them in advance.

The books come in big packs. Go snooping around your school. They are probably dumped in a dark, dusty corner some where.

I can't be bothered to start exploring every room. My school is pretty big. I'm just annoyed. Luckily, my friend is lending me his. It's just madness.

First day of classes: Here's the book. Now where's your lesson and materials?

That's what you'd ask your co-teacher for. You'll just be assisting. Razz

I have all new co-teachers this year. I'm really thinking about pulling this stunt.

Hehe I know, but I like to prepare. It's in my nature. I know it's against nature here, but why not make fun powerpoint lessons and games during my free time? It makes it easier once the school year starts, being ahead of the game.

Completely logical and proactive thinking. Attributes wholly not valued here.

I am in the same boat as the OP, but I had spring camp this week, I have no idea who my co-teacher will be and my school isn't really accomodating to the foreign teachers here. I imagine the first week will be either, no classes or trying to work out a good working relationship with my new co-teacher. I will miss my old co-teacher...
