|
|
Can anybody help me get/find/buy a Nintendo Wii in English that works with Korean voltage and also plays games from the United States?
I brought mine from the States and talked with the morons at E-mart who said their power converter was safe to use and then it promptly blew up when I pugged it in.
Any help would be great. Thanks!! |

wait, so why did it blow up your wii when you had a power converter? do you mean you just had one of those converting jacks? or you had an actual box that converted it from 220v to 110V or whichever we use back home? |

They said it was a power converter like I told them I wanted it to do... they knew and understood exactly that I needed the voltage adjusted to work with my US Wii.
I even had a Korean friend translate for me exactly what I wanted. They said that it would do what I wanted it to do and would be safe.
But they were wrong.
Can you help me with my question? |

E-mart employees are idiots.
Go to Yongsan, buy a transformer that takes power input of 220 and output 110.
I bought one that is 100, and it works fine, but I recommend getting 110.
the transformer is a bit heavy, around 5-8 lbs and is about the size of a electric pencil sharpener. make sure the prongs on the input match the korean one, and that the outlet for the wii matches American. |

Or, you can go to Yongsan and buy a Nintendo Wii 110/220 dual voltage adapter. Throw the one that came with the Wii away.
Anyways, OP, you shoudl buy a Korean Wii, get a modchip and I think you can play US games on it.
You don't want to play Retail US games on it though. You'd want to play games that have had the "update" removed. |
