| I came off peak (summertime) and was wondering when my PS would notify me that they were renewing me. I've made my intention to remain clear. I'd just like to be able to plan (I know... Unheard of here) my summer. |

If your contract expires at the end of Feb, you can assume you've been let go.
Seriously though, normally the public schools ask you/get the ball rolling about 2-2.5months before your contract expires. |

| As I said, I was hired during the summer. 2-2.5 months is still a bit off. Thanks for the info. I should know sometime in April, I guess. |

if you've only been there 1 year then it is likely they will renew you.
After 2 years though they tend to want a new face. |

I'm in a similar boat (slightly offseason start date)
depends on the school.
when I started my PS gig, I was asked after 3 months at a dinner with some other teachers if I was going to stay next year 
typically the issue has to come up 2 months prior due to your contract expiration (because of Korean paperwork, steps in having to procure a new teacher if necessary, etc)
be aware that because of POE budget cutbacks this year, some schools won't be getting the govt money for a NET. My school (and myself) may be facing this possibility (I'm betting it's like 3 to 1 they won't get it). I know of another NET in my city who wanted to stay but couldn't renew because his school didn't receive funding either (this was back in Dec).
My school supposedly won't know till Mar or even April about their NET funding.
You can alwways casually bring up the issue in a roundabout way with someone at school you have a good relationship with (preferably someone higher up on the chain) |

| OP, if you have a good relationship with your school, this should be easy to bring up with your boss. It's kinda early now, but maybe April/May would be a good time. |

| I've been talking to my head coteacher about "when I renew" and "when I go on home leave" and plans for the summer. From her reaction, I'm pretty sure I'll be renewed, but I'll be sure to vent here if not! |
