What is a decent airline to fly on to the Philippines (in terms of comfort and value?) I checked Cebu and they had decent prices. However, I was reading reviews that it is not comfortable to fly with them if you are tall ( I am traveling with someone who is over 6'0") Other reviews had said that the flights are usually late/delayed.
Is it better to book online or go to a travel agent in Korea with a Korean friend? Which will get me the better deal?
As well, what are some must see/do things in the Philippines?
Thanks!Smile

I flew Cebu Pacific once, and it was okay. the flight was delayed because of bad weather. Not their fault. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Your 6 foot friend can book Cebu Pacific and pay an extra 6000 won to be guaranteed the front seats, so he/she will probably be okay. When booking on their site, there is a seat selector option.

What to do? If you want beaches, there is Palawan (El Nido), Subic Bay, Puerto Galera, Bohol, and Boracay. And more.

It really depends on what you want to do, and what sort of environment you are looking for. If you post with more information, people will chime in and give you some tips.

They are fine for a discount airline. It is a short haul flight to Manila, Clark or Cebu (4 hours or less).

If you want a little more comfort, a meal included with your ticket and are willing to pay for it then Korean Air or Asiana is the way to go but you will pay DOUBLE the price for it.

Korea air lowest rate is about 700k won and goes up to a million at peaks.
Cebu Pacific go rate is 310k won off peak (I paid this for CEB-ICN return in November) and up to 700k on peak.

You pay for meals (p100 for a bun-wich) and p50 for beverages and your baggage allowance is only 15k but really, how much luggage do you need to sit on the beach?

Thanks for the information. We are just looking for a relaxing time. I would like to see some nice scenery and hang out on the beaches. Maybe some good nightlife for a small part of the trip as well.

I flew Philippine Air. It wasn't bad... but the seats were pretty small. Then again im 6'3" so most coach seats suck. Cheap tickets though, were only 400,000 when I went.

Its only a 3 1/2 hour trip. Less time than you spend sitting at school all day. There are 7000+ islands. How long is your vacation?

So my flight is now booked to Manila. If you could choose between these few places which would you go with: Palawan, Boracay or Bohol?

My husband and I will be there for 2 weeks. We don't really want to move from island to island during that time. We want a place that has nice beaches, cheap hotels, good food and a decent night life. Thanks for any help!Smile

Comfort, convenience, price: pick any 2 of the 3.

If you get comfort and convenience it won't be cheap.
If you get comfort and cheap it won't be convenient.
If you get cheap and convenient it won't be comfortable (trekkers/ backpackers and tents kind of uncomfortable).

Boracay is the nicest and convenient but NOT cheap (even in the off season).

Bohol with side trips for a couple days to Cebu and Camiguin or Letye (couple hour ferry rides from Bohol to each of them) is probably the middle ground.

Palawan is NICE but can be hard to get to, not much there at night or top end and pricey.

Boracay has it all but after 4 days it might get boring unless you really just want to sit around all day and relax. Camiguin really doesnt have much of nightlife or western foods, but its a nice place to relax, its cheap and you can go on long hikes. http://www.camiguinisland.net/content/white_island.htm My favorite place is Davao City. Its got everything!!! http://www.davaocity.cjb.net/
