Does anyone know where to buy will games in English? I know, I can have some one mail me some. I do not want to download any games because I would have to alter my system.

I'm sure there is a thread about this in the tech section, but here goes.
You can take your wii to yongsan and have it modded, assuming you aren't morally opposed to the practice. The guys who do the modding will sell you English pirate copies of a bunch of different Wii games for 10,000 each (or less if you are a good bargainer/buy a bunch of games.)
As I recall, getting your Wii modded costs around 80,000 won and around a half hour of your time.
OR, after you get your Wii modded you can download and burn your own games for the price of a blank DVD. |

They don't like to ship software/media overseas. They think everyone over here is a software pirate. I wonder where they'd get an idea like that. |

The thing about Wii modding is you can (very easily) softmod them and "re-virginize" them (not my term) whenever you want.
I softmodded mine and configured an external hard drive (also very easy to do), and now load all my games that way. The games also run better than on disc, the whole setup is just very convenient, and I can get any game I want within 30 minutes or so. Also, with less parts moving around in your Wii (the disc drive), I'm pretty sure this method will lengthen my console's life as well. BONUS!
I personally use USB Loader GX which has a pretty slick GUI and enables you to download cover/disc art for all your games. You can layout your games as a list, cover flow, and in a few other ways. Furthermore, I can play games from all regions (even PAL--there is a forced NTSC option) thus enabling me to play all those awesome, obscure Japanese games like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjKRm3QJjRw (When I came across the actual game on a recent trip to Japan, I almost pooed myself).
Now tell me you still don't want to modify your Wii? If you are literate, have an IQ above 75, and a spare SD card lying around, I can almost guarantee that you can complete a full softmod within 2 hours with relatively zero risk to your system (barring carelessness and a power outage).
*DISCLAIMER* I own legit copies of all the games I have backed up.
EDIT: Homebrew also opens up a whole new, albeit somewhat moderate-sized world to your system. |
