I am looking for any websites that offer housing options. I am looking for an apartment in northern Seoul or gyeonggi-do near changdong or uijeongbu.

Are there any websites in English for locating apartments?

How about Korean sites?

This has been done to death, but it's a common enough question that deserves some attention.

Don't bother with on-line real estate sites. Waste of time. More often than not their listings are 1) way more expensive than can be found by simply pounding the pavement or 2) the listing doesn't actually exist -they just try to generate business by putting some sweet looking digs out there.

The best, if not only, way to find a place is to head out the neighborhood and blanket as many real estate places (BuDongSan) as possible. As is very often the case, even proximate real estate places will have different places to offer.

Give them your price range (deposit: BoJeongGum; monthly rent: WoolSay; or key money/lump sum: ChunSay) and your priorities (size: Pyung; number of rooms; acceptable distance from subway/bus stops, etc...). Look at as many places as possible to get an idea of what you can hope to expect for your budget.

Good luck. Taking a Korean friend or co-worker along is extremely helpful if you don't speak Korean.

I am living in Seoul now, and I am renewing my contract. However I want to change my apartment (my employer said it's fine and she'll help do it). However I would like to find apartment listings and hopefully hand off 5-7 apartments I like to my employer and see if she can set one of them up for me. The company will take care of rent and key money. If the rent is "too much" then I may pay a little extra per month or allow the company to dock it from my pay, but I want to know the details about the apartment first. That is why I want to find several apartments I like first.

Any ideas?

I had a feeling the budongsan listings would be a good place to look, but I didn't want to run around on foot to every budongsan (there's one on every block pretty much). I may look around my current area to see if there's anything posted that's interesting.

Take someone from work with you when you hit the pavement, preferably someone with some decision making authority. Seriously, websites are useless....

I just did this. so just find some realtor offices in your neighborhood of choice. I think if you get a korean to write down what you're looking for, key money deposit..ask yr work what they're willing to give. this is pretty imp.. try to get 10mill. rent, the more dep you give, the lower your monthly rent is in Korea) and your pref...size, clean/new.

The realtors will drive yu to the places right there.
It's pretty easy, I've found the realtors offices are usually clustered together in the same block. Make sure yu check out a few becuase the apts can be quite different.
