I'm thinking of incorporating some cereal with low fat milk (since you can't get skim here) into my breakfast.

Any cereals here that can compare to Total? , whose taste I liked and had near 100% of required vitamins, plus good amount of fiber, etc etc etc with very low calorie count.

I see Special K, which would be a very poor man's substitute....

any suggestions, options?

There's Kellogg's Cornflight, but you'd have to eat 40,000 bowls to get the nutrition in just one bowl of Total!

(Seriously dude, take vitamins. The cereals here are loaded with sugar and have very little fiber.)

I make a mix of Kellogg's All Bran and Dorset Muesli (the blue box). I also take a multi to be on the safe side. It costs a bit more (museli isn't cheap) but it's tasty and very healthy. Not to mention all the fiber from the 2 cereals mixed!

You can get kashi go lean crunch. It is probably the best cerial you can get here in terms of health/flavor. It's on the Internet and at Cost co.

Why can't you get skim milk? I usually don't have much of a problem finding it in E-mart, Hannaro, or HomePlus. It's a bit more expensive, but I've gotten it 2 for 1 a couple times.

The foreign food market has it sometimes, as well.

You definitely pay a premium for the stuff, though.

I brought back a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch from my recent trip home. How good it tastes in Dae Han Min Gook.

All Bran is pretty cheap, and the blue box of Dorset Muesli is decently priced. Kashi is expensive, but it's a huge box and really healthy. Worth it imho.

Homeplus/Tesco offers 2 excellent generic bran cereals, both with low sugar and high fiber, and both at excellent prices. One is called "Fruit and Fiber", and the other is "Light Choices" bran. Both are excellent values for those who want a bran cereal without a lot of sugar.

Try to imagine how you might get all the good things promised by magic formula foods like Total if such foods were never invented. Surely it's possible to be healthy without relying on corporate help. If you were to find your nutrients from natural sources you also wouldn't need such manufactured products as skim (or low fat) milk. Perhaps getting away from the quick fix health foods from back home will inspire the creativity to eat the foods that nature has provided for all living things.
