So today I finally decided to do something about the install protection my company put on my computer. I constantly complained about not being to make resources and get them because of it. It fell upon deaf ears. So anyway with some registry editting I am good to go now. Installing acrobat reader so I can supplement some of my crappy books with some good materials.

So screw you "the man" I am rebelling against you!!!...so I can do my job better...

In my shop you would need to have a talk with Quality Assurance and your boss while I reimaged your machine. (Hope you saved all that stuff to your network drive!)

Talking about computer protection. Does anyone know how to get rid of Ahnlab Security Agent Policy? I can't get rid of this thing. Every time I uninstall Ahnlab Security Agent, this policy will reinstall it the next hour. If I try to uninstall it it will ask me for a password I don't have, and if I try to just delete the folder it wont let me. The program is slowing down my computer a lot, so I really want to get rid of it. I have never experienced any viruses which come close to as harmful as antivirus programs such as Ahnlab and Norton Antivirus

I do not know if this will solve all the problems with Ahnlab, but I use a program called Unlocker whenever Windows tells me I can't delete a folder or file because it's in use: http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/. Don't take any crap from Windows!

You can always flash the drive and install your own OS, set the drivers and then configure your own firewall. It's not hard, just google switching OS's.

I know your problem well, this software is annoying.

Have you tried deleting under the "Safe Mode" (if the OS is Windows)

I got rid off it by using a Chinese anti-virus software, but I can't find an English version for you.

Here is another glamorous software http://en.wopti.net/

It shall work as well.

Since you mentioned unlocker...I have another problem, which Unlocker doesn't help.

There are two softwares that will automatically install folders in my computer.

Even I remove the folders with Unlocker, they will reappear once I run the softwares again.

Any idea what I can do?

Thanks a lot !!

Yeah, on my computer at work they recently installed this Ahnlab crap and I've noticed a substantial slowdown as a result. A lot of the other computers here are even worse, having like 5 or 6 different weird programs running on them whose functions I am unsure of, and because they're all in Korean, I simply can't be bothered to look up the definitions of the host of unfamiliar words which cover their myriad menus and help files. I don't even take my students to the computer lab anymore because the variety of security and anti-virus programs on those computers have obliterated their functionality far more thoroughly than most viruses could ever hope to.
