Ok Ok, flame me....but I "forgot."
Define, explain or whatever....
A says) Do you swim?
B Says) I can't swim or I don't swim. (I go with either one of the replies...you?)
Do you drive?
I can't drive vs I don't drive.
A says) Do you want to go to dinner or whatever?
B says) I can't go tonight vs I don't want to go tonight. |

| Can't means inability; don't means a choice not to perform an action. |

Do a search for Modal verbs and learn them.
My personal pet hate is when people use can for permission. I know that it is common but my teachers in Grammar school beat that out of me. May I go to the bathroom and never can I go? |

Hey teach..."can I go to the can?"
