I'm not positive, but I could have sworn that the anyang and chongshindaeipgu arcades had DDR. Not just pump, but actual ddr. |

I did a Naver search for "압구정 오락실 DDR" and this is what I found:

There are your directions, all in Korean, to get to the only arcade in Korea (as far as I know) with DDR. That page was last updated in late 2008, and at that time the arcade had SuperNova 2. If they still have that (or the newer version, DDR X), I'll be a happy camper. In any case, I will have to hop on the bus and head over to 압구정 this week. |
Yea its still SuperNova 2, I was there earlier today. Exit 2 than turn around towards the big street than turn right and walk for about 10 mins until you come upon the Super colorful department store. Than turn right when your in the middle of the department store. It took me like 20 mins to find it xD |

Here is a map (in Korean) showing how to get to Enter:

Hope that helps. |

You should try going to any movie theater near you. They usually have a small arcade. They're here in Korea, but general small and hidden away. I'm guessing you'll have better luck around University areas. |

Chongshin University on Line 4 (right above sadang)
had a great arcade with some good SF4 players
Noryangjin also had one with SF4
also Cheonho had a crazy arcade with like 2 levels but that was back in like 2010 i don't know if it's still there
i ONLY play capcom fighting games lol
don't play anymore tho!
went to japan and it was hard to beat any of their best guys. i had the highest BP for Bison back in 2010 or something haha SSF4 ohhh yeah in the world btw on xboxlive!
SSF4 is big but it's mostly like a bunch of friends who hang out and play together and they're REALLY SERIOUS about the game
korea's 2 best guys infiltration and poongko place really high in evo every year
roughly the same level as the top top japanese and american guys but overall, the scene is like 100X bigger in USA and Japan.
it's just that Koreans when they take stuff seriously, they take it REALLY seriously lol |

This thread is a little old, but I found it cause I'm looking for an arcade... I live in Gangnam -- actually, close to Seocho station, and I can't seem to find an arcade or a multi-bang to save my life. A Korean friend of mine looked it up on Naver, but the one lone result she found turned out to be out of date. Anyone know of anything that actually still exists? |

There's a place in the Yongsan I'Park mall, I think up on the 7th floor next to the movie theater. It's not great, but has a decent range of games, air hockey, basketball machines, shooters, dancing/music games, etc.
I wonder how well a large place that does food/drinks and games would do here. Sort of like a Gameworks or Dave & Buster's? |

I posted in this thread when it was first created. It's a shame, but a lot of the arcades that I listed and that others have mentioned have closed in the 4 years since this thread was first made.
Below are the dearly (and some not so dearly) departed with the approximate dates of their demise:
- COEX arcade ~2010
- Gangnam Station arcade ~ 2011
- Gangnam Station area arcade ~ 2011
- Star City arcade ~2012
- Enter arcade (It used to be 3 stories of games, then 2, and now 0) ~2012
- Apgujeong arcade that had DDR ~2013
- Tekken Cafe arcade (which opened after this thread was made and closed last year) 2011-2013
The good news is that the arcades that are still around are going strong (for the time being).
- Jongro arcade near the McDonald's at Jongro 2-ga
- Game City arcade (lots of great Tekken players) near Seoul Station across the street from the Seoul City Tower
- Sinchon hole-in-the-wall arcade near Yeonsei
- Times Square Mall arcade
- Sincheon arcade, which has DDR 2013 (!) I'd go there more often to play DDR if it weren't so far from my house. This is the closest arcade to Seocho station, opengirl.
- I-Park mall arcade, though I haven't been there in years
- Daerim Green Arcade, best Tekken players in the world
- a couple good arcades down in Bundang and probably a couple that I haven't been to in Seoul |
